Ending elementary on a high note

Aidan is winding down his elementary school career as of Thursday.  He is ready for middle school!

The past couple weeks have been a flurry of activities finishing up the school year.    Spring band concert,
5th grade farewell, field day and awards assembly to name a few.

Today, Jason and I went to his awards assembly.

I was a ball of emotions as I watched our little boy who began kindergarten just a few years ago walking up to the stage time and again as a young man to accept his awards.

He received recognition for tiger patrol, best typist at his school, online math league, achievement in no excuse words for 6th grade, he was #2 in the school for volunteer hours and received the presidential bronze medal for volunteerism.

His final award was an honorable mention for the Kindest Kansas Citian essay competition.  His essay was chosen in the top 80 of thousands submitted.  He wrote his essay on a very special lady from our church.  He was asked to read his essay at the assembly this morning and did a fabulous job.

We are so thankful for the great mentors and role models that Aidan has in his life.  Kelly, you are outstanding!

We are so proud of the young man that he is growing up to be.  We pray that God continues to mold and guide his life.

Way to go Aidan!
