It has been almost 2 months since we went cold turkey with Dariya and put her in panties. She is still doing fabulously, having no accidents!
Both girls have gotten super independent about toileting (since I couldn't pick them up after surgery) they go in and get on and off he potty all by themselves then use the step stool to get up and wash their hands. It is awesome to watch my little girls growing up!
I couldn't be happier to not be buying pull ups and look forward to nights that are diaper free! ;)
For those of you who are in process of potty training with your little one, slow and steady wins the race! They will get it in their own timing.

Hooray, Dariya!!!! Wow, that's awesome that the two of them are so independent about it. What a relief that must be. And what excellent advice, too. I always tell people that they'll do it in their own time, when *they're* ready. Samantha was the same, and we just had to follow her cues.
Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and that you're feeling well!
I am SO jealous! But that is absolutely fabulous. I cannot wait for the diaper free days in this house!
My daughter with DS is only 2 1/2, but she has been expressing potty interest for 6 months now. She was almost completely trained for two weeks, but then regressed. Now, she is interested again and at about 25% potty and 75% diaper. However, she loves panties and wants to wear them. I am afraid of cold turkey just yet, but also afraid if I don't go with it now, I am going to miss the opportunity! Any suggestions?! ;-)
Elissa,
I would go for it. If she is showing that much interest. Maybe a few hours in the morning in panties at first. My kids all figured out that pull ups were just like a diaper so we opted to skip those with Aidan and Alayna and just go straight to underwear in the morning.
Lots of praise, all in their timing, keep a positive attitude.
Try signing time potty time too it is great!
We had success during the night with both of our daughters (5-yo w/ DS, 3-yo without) when we would take them to the potty as we went to bed at night. They were pretty sleepy, so we would carry them in & put them on the potty. They almost always produced & then were able to stay dry until they got up in the morning. It won't work for everyone, but it sure helped our girlies. :)
That is great! Gosh, they are growing up too fast!
What wonderful potty training news! We're planning to start potty training with Wesley this spring, and I'm dreading it!
